About Linda

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychological Association of Alberta. I am also a certified EMDR practitioner.

Before working in mental health, I worked as a Medical Radiation Technologist in Edmonton for several years. I enjoyed the work at a busy trauma hospital and continued this careeer even after I became a psychologist.

I completed a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology in 2009 and I have been working in mental health since then. During my time as a provisional psychologist I experienced meaningful work in different contexts. I worked in the public school system, providing therapy and support to junior high students and their parents. I also assisted in forensic assessments, where I worked with a wide range of clientele involved in the court system. I also worked in private practice, where I learned the importance of using treatment and intervention, in addition to developing counselling skills. I believe I have found a comfortable environment to provide therapy for clients and I have also found the most comfortable environment for myself.

My primary psychological approaches focus on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy. These counselling (talk therapy) approaches are effective and make sense, but I also believe that it may be necessary to use specific treatments/interventions such as EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Focusing (mind/body processing), and art therapy to help individuals process information at another level.

 

Therapies Offered

Theoretical Approaches: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centred Therapy among others.

Treatments: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Clinical Hypnosis, Focusing (Mind/Body processing), and some Art Therapy.

Clientele: I am most experienced with: Adults (Individual therapy), Seniors, Teens/Youth (13+), Indigenous Clients, First Responders, and Military Veterans.

Issues we can work on:  Anxiety and Depression, Emotional Regulation, Stress Management, Grief and Loss, Trauma and PTSD, Relationship Issues, Goals and Identity, Life Transitions and Adjustments, and Work stress.

Some insurance companies do not provide full coverage, so please contact your provider to check how much coverage you have.
